Just Married Flip Flops – Bride, Groom Flip Flops – Honeymoon Flip Flops

Is It Okay to Wear Colored Shoes Under My Wedding Dress?

I want to wear shoes died teal to match my bridesmaid’s dresses. Is this tacky? I thought it would add a bit of flare & something fun. What do you think?
My dress is long to the floor. I would pick high heels that suited the style of the dress & myself. I saw a girl do this with hot pink heals & I thought it looked incredible!

Go for it! :) It’s a nice pop of color and it adds a little personalization. If anyone tells you it’s "tacky" then they are probably some hoity toity person who has no imagination!

    I wore red shoes:

    It’s your wedding!
    Do whatever you want.

If your shoes don’t show much, it might be cute. If your shoes are fully showing, it’s a little tricky. Maybe white shoes with a touch of teal? Teal toe-nail polish?

I think that’s a great idea. It’s really exciting for the guests to see a little originality in the wedding. I went to a wedding wear the bride wore sneakers someone had made her with things like her and her husbands name with hearts. It was a floor length dress but it was a cool surprise when she showed us. I think something like colored shoes would add some spunk to your wedding.

When it comes right down to it, everything about weddings is tacky! I think that’s awesome, have fun with your day, believe me, when you walk down that isle, no one will be looking at your feet, and it will make for some fun pictures!

totally tacky Have a teal ribbon added to your bouquet, or have teal bows on your shoes that match your dress.

A woman who had an appointment with my seamstress right my appointment is doing this. She had her shoes dyed to match the sash on her dress. It was a gorgeous teal blue color which looked really good with her ivory dress.

I say if you like it and think it looks good, go for it. It’s my personal belief that on your wedding day you should do what reflects you and your style, and not what you feel you’re "supposed" to do.

YES! I love this idea. My bf wore red patent high heels under her ivory satin gown. I thought that was a little much so Im planning to wear satin peep-toe pumps. Check these out:

Great way to bring individuality to a traditional dress. Bonus: more traditional people are unlikely to see them. Yay!

Sure, do it! I’ve seen that done before with pink and red shoes. It sounds like it would totally reflect your personality.

I have also seen people do a colored petticoat under their white dress.

If it is what you like then go for it! This is something that is up to personal preference, and personally, I think it adds a fun pop of colour. Since your dress goes to the floor and will cover your shoes for the majority of the day, other than when you are dancing and picking up your skirt…it is something, that even if you do decided later on you didn’t like, it won’t ruin any of your wedding pictures or make you cringe with regret.

Yea I love this idea, I was going to do the same when my color was blue so my shoes would have been the "something blue" no one would see them…

I don’t think it’s tacky at all! I bought green shoes to wear with my wedding dress but I think I’m going to wear a pair of vintage silver shoes. I think it will look great for pictures!
